Coach Michael Spicer is unique.
Yes, “Coach Mike” is unusually strong, has a powerful physique, is talented and has achieved progressively exceptional athletic accomplishments. No doubt, Coach Mike also deeply values practice and hard work. But what makes Coach Mike unique is the way in which he leads, connects with and inspires Coach Derek’s [CDI’s] students, teams, co-workers, parents and community members. When you meet Coach Mike, you’ll see why he has an instant rapport with the kids!
Coach Mike’s athletic career is lined with impressive successes and accomplishments. His high school career earned him first team All-State performer.
While in college, Coach Mike accomplished what few others have by successfully muscling through a 400-pound power clean! While Coach Mike credits his then Strength Coach Tobias Jacobi for this incredible feat, we all know Coach Mike encompasses the perfect storm of awesome: power, commitment and attitude!
While a linebacker for Western Carolina University (where he was named a two time All-American and All-Conference selection and where he currently holds six school records), Coach Mike was recruited by the Buffalo Bills. He went on to play with AFL and UFL teams including the: LA Avengers, Columbus Destroyers, New Orleans Voodoo, New York Sentinels and Hartford Colonials.
In 2005, Coach Mike played in the Avengers’ All Rookie Team
In 2007, Coach Mike set a record by completing three sacks in one game
In 2009, Coach Mike led the Sentinel’s in sacks
In 2010, Coach Mike led his team in both sacks and tackles for loss
In the AFL, Coach Mike had 15.5 career sacks
In the UFL, Coach Mike had 7 career sacks
Not many football players transition from being a player to coach as gracefully as Mike, who while coaching is in his element doing what he is meant to do – helping kids reach their maximum potential.

Your child will learn the fundamentals that are necessary for success in youth football (catching, passing, strategies and defense) through exciting games and scrimmages.
An emphasis on skill development over competition and the use of flags helps make the program safe for boys and girls of all sizes and abilities.
This class will emphasize team work, communication and self confidence while developing sports skills, overall strength and coordination. This 45 minute class will include warm-up, skills, drills and game play. The goal is to enhance your child’s enjoyment of sports.
