Coach Luis Ortiz

Luis Ortiz was born in Durango, Mexico, and raised in Los Angeles. He has always loved to help youth excel both in the educational field and in the sports field. In his early years he played organized Baseball, Soccer and even competed in Tae Kwon Do. He attended high school in the Los Angeles area where he played Varsity Baseball and Soccer. He then went on to graduate with Honors and is furthering his education at Cal State University of Northridge.

After graduating high school, Luis has been focused on mentoring and coaching youth. He started working as a Counselor and Teacher’s Aid for a Multicultural Learning Center, as well as the Los Angeles Unified School District as a Teacher’s Aid and Playground Supervisor for various schools in the greater Los Angeles Region. Working as a Playground Supervisor allowed Luis to coach the students in Baseball, Soccer, Football, and Basketball. He provided the youth with the fundamentals and knowledge of the sport, enabling them to go out and feel confident to compete and have fun.

Working with children has helped Luis not only to grow as a person, but has motivated him to have a positive impact in their lives.
