Coach Ian Marlowe

I have been involved in sports from a very young age, playing t-ball, basketball and football. I was raised in Gardena area, but attended Paseo Del Rey, where I was involved in the student council, orchestra, and cafeteria preparation crew. In middle school I was involved in the basketball and flag football programs. At Westchester High School I shifted my focus to academics. I have worked with kids since the age of 15.

I was a junior counselor under the direction of senior counselors for the City of Los Angeles at the Westchester Recreation Center. After 4 years of employment in a different field, I returned to work with children at Westchester Recreation Center in 2007 where I have worked as an after school program director, pre-school teacher and special event coordinator for the City of Los Angeles, coordinating the longest running Halloween event to date.

Being a part of the Coach Derek staff is an honor and it gives me the opportunity to interact with an entire new community and hopefully build more life changing bonds within that community.
