Enrichment Classes Begin March 25, 2019
Spring Break – No Classes (April 15th – April 19th)
(8 weeks) – March 25, April 1, 8, 22, 29, May 6, 13, 20
Professor Egghead Astronauts (TK-3rd)
Blast off this session with the Egghead Astronaut Crew as we explore the far reaches of our universe. Students will set off rockets, make huge chemical reactions, make lava slime, look for life and rocks on other planets, recycle water in space, and make out of this world volcanoes on their way to becoming astronauts! The best part? They get to take home their experiment every week! All Eggheads will get their Astronauts ID card, and at the end of the session, they’ll also get their official Astronaut degree, authorizing them to explore the universe!
Zip Zap Zop Improv (Kinder-5th)
Improv is great for enhancing confidence, building peer relationships, and stretching creative potential while playing games, listening, collaborating and, most importantly: having fun! The Zip Zap Zop team of instructors have experience working with children in an inclusive setting. Students will learn the exciting world of IMPROV & COMEDY with additional supports, pacing and comfort level that fits the needs of each individual! Parents are welcome to join in the fun the last day of class!
Japanese Kirigami (1st – 5th)
Let’s CUT and CREATE! Children will learn about Japanese culture as well as basic Japanese vocabulary words and phrases. They will create panels including, the days of the week, seasons and months of the year. Each day, month, or season will be created using Kirigami, the Japanese art of cutting paper with scissors, and Teri’s cut paper techniques, which have been copyrighted by the Library of Congress. Children will cut Japanese alphabets and incorporate them into their artworks. In addition, children will learn 20 different folding paper techniques that are the basis for Kirigami. All children will learn about scissor education and basic hand exercises done prior to cutting. Scissors, origami, glue and other papers will be provided.

*April 9th = Late dismissal time, Classes will begin at 3:10pm
Beginning Strings: Year round class, no need to re-enroll.
Orchestra – BEFORE ENRICHMENT CARE is needed
This fee covers the 1 hour before Orchestra class begins.
If your child is enrolled in aftercare for the day or is in another enrichment class before then no need to enroll.
Little Pop Stars (K-1st)
Does music make you want to move and groove? This class is designed for first time dancers. Students will increase flexibility, rhythmic ability and develop sequential memory all while jamming out to the best new tunes. Dance improvisation games are played to encourage expression and creativity. A performance with costumes will be held at the end of the session for family and friends! open to all grades
Hip Hop Stars (2nd-5th)
For girls & boys! Catch on to the latest dance craze! Learn the basic techniques of dance and how to move to the beat. We promote a healthy lifestyle through fun-physical activity that encourages self expression through music and movement. This is a performance-based class, designed to help students gain confidence and self-esteem. We teach age-appropriate dance routines to pop music and classics from the past! We put on a rockn’ performance in costumes on the last day for family and friends to enjoy!
Cooking Class (K-5th)
“LIFT” stands for “Learning Is Fun Time” and that’s how we think of cooking. Your kids will learn to make EASY, simple, healthy AND delicious foods in our fun, interactive cooking classic. This session features tasty meals using ONLY 5 ingredients. 5 Ingredient Feasts include: Chicken Teriyaki with Veggies, Spinach, Shallots and Feta Brown Rice Pilaf, Breakfast Greek Yogurt Parfaits with Fruit and Homemade Granola, Quick Chocolate Mousse and more! Each lesson students will develop their culinary skills while learning about nutrition, culture and even dining etiquette. At the end of the session, parents are invited to our Kid Restaurant where your kids are the waiters and chefs! Get hungry to learn the art of cooking.

Join Coach Jerry in playing the most popular sport in the world and one of the most popular sports in LA. Soccer truly is fun for everyone! Your child will learn the fundamentals of soccer (dribbling, passing, shooting) the rules of the game, sportsmanship, team-sport mentality and proper stretching and warm up procedures.
Ms. Ashley is back to teach yoga and breathing through music, games, tactile tools, and most importantly FUN! Children will receive individual attention, positive reinforcement, and a safe space to explore feeling through expression of movement and sound. Ms. Ashley is a Certified Yoga Therapist and a 500 HR Yoga Alliance registered instructor.

Musical Theater (1st-5th)
Join Theatre 31 for a fun, non-competitive, and age appropriate production class in which each child is given an opportunity to sing, dance, and act in a short presentation of “___________”. In an exciting curriculum focusing on techniques of the musical theatre, children will strengthen their skills of collaboration and concentration while also building self-esteem, courage, confidence, and compassion for one another.
Mindful Kids (K-5th)
Come join a new mindfulness and social emotional learning class with interactive games, crafts, sports, yoga, and art that correspond to a specific mindfulness lesson each week. Mindfulness lessons helps kids with emotional regulation, focus, compassion, anxiety/stress, self-awareness and impulse control. Each hour long class starts with a Mindfulness lesson, the remainder of the class will be an engaging activity that shows us how Mindfulness can be embodied in our everyday lives. We will incorporate tools that kids can use when they are dealing with anger or frustration and to help with self regulating. These skills will be taught in a fun and tangible way through games, arts and crafts, mindful eating, adventures and our favorite SLIME lesson, so that kids can access these life skills during moments of being triggered at home, on the playground, and at school.
Chess Mates (K-5th)
Chess Mates is opened to all grades TK -5th grade. Chess Mates utilizes critical thinking, presents strategic challenges and promotes good sportsmanship. Come out and join Sean he is the best instructor for chess. Two weeks of tournament, all levels welcome, weekly chess worksheet lessons, chess related prizes, tournament with trophies prizes and certificates, last day of program party.

Prof. Egghead LEGO Engineering: Acient Wonders (TK-3rd)
Professor Egghead is back and badder than ever! Strap in, because this session the Egghead Engineering team is hopping in the time machine and going back in ancient history to build huge engineering marvels! Using LEGOs, students will build awesome ancient creations like aqueducts, huge dams, wells, and giant coliseums. Then, we’ll test them with the crush test, the weight test, and all of our other tests to make sure they can stand up to the challenge! All Eggheads will get their Ancient Engineer ID card, authorizing them to design and build any ancient wonder they can think of. At the end of the session, they’ll also get their official Ancient Engineer Degree – proving they’re ready to build the toughest challenges!
Join KINDER ALCHEMY ® to learn German with Frau Heckes in an inspiring and confidence building environment. This course emphasizes communication in German as well as reading and writing presented in ways that are visual, verbal, logical and social. The following materials will be covered: An introduction to regular verbs in the present tense, word order as well as basic vocabulary, and the awareness of cross-cultural similarities. We will complete this class with skits by the students.
Realistic Drawing (TK-5th)
Taught by Pam Trank, artist and art teacher, she is also a PTA District Reflections Judge. Under her instruction children will be given a guided lesson which will teach them to recognize shapes in pictures. Then they will fill that world with their own color and beauty. By the end of class each child will go home with their own beautiful composition ready to frame.
